Global Universal
Pictures, (GUP), is a Canadian film production company, which is
partially owned by Global Universal. Because Canadian law restricts
the amount of foreign ownership in any Canadian Film company, Global
Universal’s ownership in GUP is limited to 30% of its capital
shares.
Jackie Giroux, President of Global Universal Pictures, and Founder
of Global Universal Film Group, has spent a lifetime in the film
industry. She has earned a stellar reputation for writing and producing
feature films “on time” and “within the budget”.
She is performance driven and has successfully developed, produced
and sold numerous feature-length pictures throughout her extensive
career the film industry.
Jackie Giroux’s track record as a “very competent, hands-on
producer” is why both the Federal government of Canada and
the Provincial government of New Brunswick have continued to provide
GUP with numerous sources of fully bankable tax credits, which will
be used with film distribution incentives to offset a substantial
portion of financing required to produce each film.
Global Universal Pictures completed its first film “Blue Seduction”
in March of 2009, starring Billy Zane and Estella Warren. GUP has
commenced production on its second film tentatively entitled “American
Sunset”, scheduled to be completed in July of 2009, and plans
to produce an additional two films prior to December.
